A stroke survivor in her 20s and a registered nurse, Ashleigh Mackey brings a rare dual perspective to stroke care. As a stroke coordinator at USA Health University Hospital, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, she educates patients and leads the hospital’s stroke support group.

After experiencing multiple strokes linked to moyamoya disease and undergoing revascularization surgery, Ashleigh turned recovery into advocacy. She serves as a Hope Survives ambassador and shares practical guidance with survivors and caregivers. Her compassion, clinical expertise and lived experience make her a steadfast champion for recovery, prevention and hope.
