Agenda

The RENACE program is a psychoeducational support initiative of the Mennonite Health System aimed at patients who have experienced a cerebrovascular event (stroke) and their families, with the purpose of accompanying them in the process of physical, emotional and social adaptation after the event. Their focus is on providing clear and accessible information, normalizing the emotional reactions associated with stroke, strengthening coping strategies, and fostering a support network that promotes dignity, autonomy, and realistic hope. RENACE does not seek to "return to how it was before", but to help people rebuild meaning, functionality and quality of life from their new stage, integrating the patient, the family and the health team in a process of human and continuous accompaniment.

Notes

RENACE is a psychoeducational support program aimed at stroke patients and their families, developed by the Mennonite Health System.
It offers two monthly meetings, focused on emotional, cognitive and social adaptation after the cerebrovascular event.
Her approach is humanized and integrated, recognizing the impact of stroke on the person, the family, and life roles.
The program complements clinical care, without substituting medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
It promotes accessible information, practical coping strategies, and realistic goals focused on functional recovery and emotional well-being.
Actively integrate family members and caregivers as an essential part of the recovery process.
The unit's Social Worker coordinates the identification of hospitalized patients, the logistics of participation and the registration of the service.
