A is For Aphasia
Caregivers, Survivors, Medical Professionals
- Second Tuesday of each month
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Home Aide LLC, 9615 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI 48150
The first fifteen minutes of our meeting is for socialization and refreshments. We then have introductions, take care of business topics from previous meeting, have an educational/informational speaker, video, activity, open discussion, and discuss the next meeting's agenda.
I started this group because my husband Dave had a SAH and stroke August 2015. He almost left us many times during his 7 week hospitalization. His largest deficits are aphasia and cognitive. This has been his biggest hurdle for his recovery. I have owned and operated a Caregiving Service for the last 12 years and have a background as a nurse, nursing assistant and a caregiver. I have a large network of professionals in my area who are affiliated with hospitals, long term care facilities, assisted livings, the local Chamber of Commerce, and various networking groups, so we are hoping to help many stroke survivors with this group.
