Important Update About Workplace Wellbeing Symposium: Postponed Due to Travel Precautions
Dear Friend of the American Heart Association,
We have been working closely with volunteers and staff to prepare for the upcoming Workplace Wellbeing Symposium on March 18 at the Corporate College Conference Center. We just learned that our keynote speaker, Darcy Gruttadaro, J.D., Director, Center for Workplace Health, American Psychiatric Foundation, is unable to join us due to travel precautions. Her expertise was an integral component of the symposium. We have also had staff from several organizations tell us they were unable to attend based on their own company policies regarding attending large events.
With this is mind, we have made the decision to reschedule the event. Our team is working diligently to identify an alternative event date, and we will provide an update to you as soon as possible.
As a science-based organization which cares deeply about the health of our communities, we are closely following the guidance from the CDC and local public health officials on the coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety of our guests at our events around the country has been and will continue to be our top priority. We will monitor the situation as we set our new date.
We would like to thank our incredible leadership committee, sponsors, vendors and volunteers who have given so much time and energy to ensure our symposium is a valuable experience for all. Our lifesaving work and our mission are more important than ever. Heart disease and stroke continue to be our No. 1 and No. 2 global killers and they forever change the lives of patients and their families.
While we are sorry we won’t be seeing you on Wednesday, March 18, we look forward to seeing you at our rescheduled event. We appreciate your support and grace as we adapt our plans. We will be in touch soon!
