Stroke Survivor 2 Survivor (SS2S)

The Stroke Survivor 2 Survivor (SS2S) program was a collaboration between the American Stroke Association and Stroke Survivors Empowering Each Other, Inc. (SSEEO). This volunteer-based peer support program connected people who survived a stroke and their caregivers through regular telephone calls. The goal was to provide greater access to resources and increase social support.

After 21 years, SSEEO’s board of directors made the difficult decision to close the organization. As a result, the SS2S program is no longer being offered.

We want to thank all the sites and volunteers who helped make SS2S possible over the years. If you want to keep this program going in your community, you can, but we will no longer provide support, reports, or collect data. New sites will not be enrolled.

The American Stroke Association remains committed to being a relentless force for a healthier world with fewer strokes. To stay informed about the latest stroke news and resources, sign up for our monthly Together to End Stroke® E-newsletter.
