NINDS
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and
Strokes (NINDS), a component of the federal government’s National Institutes of
Health (NIH), is ultimately responsible for sponsoring research on strokes and
the nervous system, including the acute phase of the stroke and restoring
functions after the stroke. The NINDS also supports research on ways to improve
the repair and regeneration of the central nervous system.
