Spotlight on Pediatric Stroke

Anyone, at any age, can have a stroke, including unborn babies, newborns, children and teenagers. Stroke affects as many as six in 100,000 children every year. Our new Faces of Stroke℠ Ambassador, Elijah, and his mother, Jennifer, are sharing their experience with pediatric stroke.

15 Strokes an Hour

Every hour, 15 people have a stroke caused by atrial fibrillation (Afib). Afib is a type of irregular heartbeat that causes the two upper chambers of the heart to beat rapidly and unpredictably. Afib is a major risk factor for stroke and it increases your risk of having a stroke by 500 percent.

Join us for a one-hour, online Q&A session called iHOPE: Medication Adherence Ask the Experts on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at noon EST. Ask pharmacist Chris Gauthier, RPh, questions about staying on track with your medications.

The Q&A session is a follow-up to the popular webinar iHOPE: Medication Adherence. You don’t have to have seen the original webinar to participate in the Q&A, but you can still catch it online.

National Stroke Association is conducting focus groups with stroke survivors and caregivers on smartphone applications. We need participants who use smartphones and participants who don’t.
