Pre-Hospital Acute Stroke Programs

This three part webinar series is designed to provide practical guidance, solutions to common challenges and resources that are in high demand by stroke programs that seek to integrate telemedicine into their systems of care.

The In-Hospital Stroke webinar, developed by experts Ethan Cumbler, MD, and Soojin Park, MD, takes a case-based approach in educating on the impact of in-hospital stroke, the causes of and where in the hospital they most likely occur and current treatment options.

Stroke is the leading cause of long-term severe disability and the fourth cause of death in the U.S.  Roughly 30-40% of first time strokes are cryptogenic, or due to unknown cause. It is necessary to establish the cause of stroke to determine functional prognosis, decrease the risk of future strokes, and select appropriate preventative care. Currently, serious gaps exist between in the clinical knowledge of cryptogenic stroke and how to treat, manage, and prevent the occurrence—leaving patients at risk for disabling strokes or even death.
