Did you know?

-There are roughly 7 million stroke survivors in the U.S. By 2030, it is estimated that number will drastically grow as a result of the aging baby boomer population.
-Stroke is a leading cause of serious adult disability. Disability includes aphasia, incontinence, depression, paralysis and additional isolating conditions.
-Stroke cost $38.6 billion in the U.S. in 2009.

Why I support National Stroke Association

The public is dangerously misinformed about stroke, which is one reason why I am proud to be a member of the 2013 ING NYC Marathon Stroke Challenge team. By joining this team, I support their efforts to increase public awareness of the signs and symptoms of stroke to reduce the incidence of stroke.

However, they also want to lessen the impact of stroke. For the 7 million stroke survivors, National Stroke Association wants to provide hope and resources to help them navigate their post-stroke lives and restore their dignity.

National Stroke Association’s mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke by developing compelling education and programs focused on prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and support for all impacted by stroke. Thank you for joining us to try and stop this devastating disease.
