Kathleen Oroho & Mike Linskey: 2013 ING New York City Marathon, In Memory of Rita Hassler
Thank you for taking the time to check out our fundraising page for the marathon! We are running the marathon in memory of Rita Hassler, Kathleen's late grandmother. Grandma Hassler was truly an incredible woman and Kathleen feels so blessed to be able to say that Rita was her grandmother!
In 2008, Grandma suffered a massive stroke that led to major complications and she passed away on April 3, 2008. When Kathleen thinks back to some of the memories of Grandma, she can't help but smile! There are so many wonderful memories that Kathleen has of Grandma Hassler and those are special memories that she will always hold very close to her heart. Whenever Kathleen hears the song, "When the Saints go Marching In", she can't help but laugh a little and tear up at the same time (a feeling that is most likely shared by the whole family!)
This race will mean so much to us, not only because it will honor Grandma Hassler, but also because running the NYC marathon will be an absolutely incredible experience! We are so thankful for any contributions that you can make to support us in the race. The National Stroke Association is a terrific organization that is raising awareness about a critical health issue that affects so many people daily. Thank you again and please remember that any support is greatly appreciated!
