As a chemist, my research has focused on understanding disease-related problems. I am looking forward to contributing to the field in another aspect by getting involved with the National Stroke Association.

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability in the United States. Fortunately, preventative measures can be taken to reduce the risk of a stroke. I hope that my participation in the Stroke Challenge Team will further educate others about the importance of stroke prevention and rehabilitation. I'm running to accomplish a goal of completing my first New York City Marathon and to raise awareness for a great cause.
