My father was always by my side growing up. Whether I liked it or not, he was my coach, my critic, my mentor and my friend.

5 years ago he suffered a stroke. At the time, I didn't know how my family would recover, but we did in more ways than one. And since then, I've been by his side, as a friend, a coach, and a critic -- whether he likes it or not.

To honor my father and my family I'm running the ING NYC Marathon on the fifth anniversary of my father's stroke. This is my second time running this marathon and as a member of this team I'm hoping to raise money and awareness for stroke prevention and education.

So please donate whatever you can for a good cause, a good person, and for all of those whose lives have been impacted by strokes.
