About Faces of Stroke
Faces of Stroke is a multimedia public awareness campaign that aims to show the personal side of stroke while educating about lifesaving stroke information through personal stories of stroke champions. Hundreds have shared stories that can effectively carry important activating stroke awareness information to the at-risk public. Four campaign ambassadors represent the campaign and carry out an important mission to begin raising community-level awareness through activities, media outreach and rallying the stroke communities they live in.
Why was it developed? The general public is largely unaware of stroke warning signs and risk factors. The campaign was developed and launched in 2011 by National Stroke Association to enhance National Stroke Awareness Month outreach.
What can it achieve? The campaign’s long-term goal is to develop and maintain a committed online and offline stroke community that plays a key role in the act of raising awareness at the community level.
