Stroke Awareness Resources for
Healthcare Professionals
In the U.S., stroke is the fourth leading cause of death and a leading cause of serious, long-term adult disability. Stroke can happen to anyone at any time, regardless of race, sex or age. It is estimated that 795,000 strokes will occur this year, translating into one stroke every 40 seconds.
An obligation lies with healthcare professionals to educate their patients on the signs of stroke and how they can act FAST. With immediate medical attention, their patients may be able to lower the risk of disability or even death.
