Spread the Word during National Stroke Awareness Month 2009

National Stroke Association encourages everyone to participate this May by donating, holding awareness events or distributing stroke educational materials to important people in your life. This year, you can focus your efforts by learning more about one or all three of these important awareness areas:

  • STOP Stroke through risk factor management.
  • Act FAST to increase recognition of and responseto stroke symptoms.
  • Spread HOPE about recovery from stroke.

National Stroke Association has many creative in-person and virtual event ideas and downloadable materials to help you celebrate 2009 National Stroke Awareness Month. No matter how you decide to promote stroke awareness in May, National Stroke Association is grateful for each person that takes the time to talk with someone about the risk factors for stroke and how to effectively recognize and respond to stroke symptoms by using the F.A.S.T. method. We are especially thankful to survivors and caregivers who offer their stories of recovery and daily lifestyle to inspire and motivate others in the world.
