National Stroke Association 2006 Research Fellowships in Cerebrovascular Disease

The mission of National Stroke Association is to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke. National Stroke Association's Fellowship Awards have been established to provide opportunities for promising investigators to develop and focus their research interests and efforts on the causes, mechanisms and treatment of cerebrovascular disease.
A major goal of the fellowship program is to increase the number of clinical and basic scientists devoting their careers to the field of stroke. Since the program’s inception, National Stroke Association has awarded 42 fellowships with over 80 percent of all fellows currently in academic/research practice. The awards have also garnered an average of five published papers for each fellow per year.
