Brainiac Kids - Media Header

Media Relations

Brainiac Kids is not only a fun and highly effective stroke education program, but also an appealing news story for your local media. Media coverage for Brainiac Kids will spread awareness of the program and build credibility of your school or organization. The great thing about media relations is it's free and easy!
 
Invite your local print and television media out to one of your Brainiac Kids programs, such as Brainiac Game Day, Steps for Stroke Walk-a-Thon or to see the Act F.A.S.T. skits. You can use the sample press release provided here. Be sure to include information about your school or organization and the "5 W's and a H" of your Brainiac Kids media opportunity (who, what, when where, why and how).
 
The press release can be sent to daily newspapers, community newspapers, local television news stations, radio stations, magazines or any other appropriate media outlet. The release can be emailed, faxed or mailed, but it is a good idea to call the outlet first to find the appropriate producer, assignment editor or health reporter to send it to. Follow up phone calls is also very important.
