Creighton University gets grant to study strokes

A researcher at Creighton University’s School of Medicine
has been awarded a $1.63 million grant to study better ways to prevent
strokes.
Dr. Devendra Agrawal’s grant comes from the National
Institutes of Health.
She will focus her five-year study on plaque buildup in the
carotid artery in the neck.
The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
describes stroke as the third leading cause of death in the United States.
