Survivor My SurvivalI am 28 years old and on May 24, 2012 I suffered a major stroke due to both carotid arteries being severed (right 90% and left 53%) in an automobile accident in which I was ejected as the vehicle rolled. I am still recovering but thanks to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Utah I have made a remarkable recovery so far. I spent a little over a month in the hospital and was released to do outpatient therapy. I am walking with assistance from a crutch, my left side is still mostly unresponsive. But is getting better everyday, at my last check up last week they did an ultra sound on my carotids and they are now both healed completely. So things are going ok. I have completed my physical therapy and now continue it on my own at home. And now I am planning to get married in about a year. |
