Beating the Odds

I am a 50 year old, active, and healthy woman who beat the odds of a Sinus Venous Thrombosis.  They believed this was brought on from the birth control pills I was taking for menopause.  I beat the odds - I fully recovered!

I had a stroke with a brain bleed on 8/20/2011. I spent 10 days in the hospital and left with the realization I couldn't read or remember basic information like what year it was. I got angry and embarked on my own rehabilitation. I taught myself how to read and kept myself fit with walking. The doctors were amazed at my 3 week post operative visit. I was ready to go back to work. And that I did 6 weeks from my stroke.

I have fully recovered with no signature signs of having had a stroke. The doctor said I am luck to be alive.

We all have a purpose in life and mine it to tell my story and help others!
