Dr. Mark C. Weston had a severe stroke on Aug 18, 2009. Dr. Weston was a fellowship trained spine surgeon, very well known and praised in the spine community. After his stroke, he spent one month in the hospital and another month in specialized rehab. It has been over a year now since his stroke, and he is still recovering everyday. He came back to his medical practice in February 2010 to see patients with back pain. He now does evaluations and consultations with patients and works closely with other spine surgeons. I feel he would make a great face of stroke, not only because he is a survivor, but he is an educator on stroke prevention as well as a doctor.
