Pam R.

Caregiver & Support Group Leader

I would like to nominate Pam R. who cared for her husband, who suffered from multiple strokes, until his death. She attends our local stroke support group at Rutherford County Hospital in an effort to continue giving as many people positive support in what can be a very dark time. Ours is a mixed group of survivors and caregivers, and Pam has been featured in our local news paper and even helped in restarting the group after it had been cancelled due to a lack of regular attendees. It was even her idea, and was accomplished through the group and hospital, that we start an anonymous stroke support line for any new patient brought into the emergency room and their family because of how shocking and overwhelming the entire process can be. Pam has been such a wonderful inspiration to all of us and an honor to our group. Please consider her story as one of motivation and love.
