Tyler Jacob O.  Survivor At 3-years-old, Tyler had meningitis, encephalitis and a stroke. He was not expected to survive. He could not talk, walk, eat or drink for several weeks. Slowly, he recovered and is now almost six feet tall and in 10th grade in school. He still has some "invisible" side effects of the stroke: short term memory loss, impulsiveness and strong emotions. It is sometimes difficult for people to realize how a child could have a stroke and how it has affected Tyler's life in so many ways. |
