Richard M.

Survivor

Richard M. is a nine year stroke survivor. When he first came out of his eight day coma he was told that he would never be able to walk, talk or speak. He figured if he came this far he was going to prove everyone wrong. After months of rehab, a lot of hard work, strong determination and his deep faith in God, he was able to beat the odds. Seven months later, he felt called to help other stroke survivors. Rich has been a volunteer at Resurrection Medical Center for seven years. He has given support and encouragement to hundreds of stroke survivors since he began and continues to love it as much as he did when he first started. He is also actively involved with Resurrection Health Care's five Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Centers and the RHC Afterglow Stroke Support Group. Rich M. is a true example that there is hope after a stroke with the help of faith, love and determination.
