My husband had a stroke on October 26, 2008. He was unable to use his left arm, walk and his speech was affected. The stroke occurred in Las Vegas while at an office products trade show. While speaking to a colleague, she noticed his slurred speech and drooping eye and immediately called 911. He was transferred to the hospital five minutes away. He returned home to Va. in five days, was wheeled into rehab and walked out. He had to walk downstairs backwards due to his left hand unable to be utilized. He has learned how to fasten clothing with one hand, travel by train and plane and continue to work. He now is being forced to retire and is still fully capable of working. He is an inspiration to many at his rehab center.
