Survivor
Lilly is a neonatal nurse who had a stroke several years ago at age 49 following necessary surgery. Although she cannot work as a nurse any longer, Lilly has volunteered in a hospital rocking babies and encouraging their parents. Lilly is an extremely positive individual and is an integral part of the Stroke Survivors Support Group that I facilitate. Her upbeat attitude makes her a wonderful addition to the group. She is not a “victim” of stroke, but a true survivor.
