A Lucky Man

I am 71 years old and have always been healthy, with no major illnesses. On August 16th, 2011, that all changed. I am a musician and had just completed playing a concert in Bowling Green, Kentucky. As I began loading my sound equipment, I noticed I was having a trouble keeping my balance. Also, I had developed a slight headache and was weak. As I began the 68 mile trip back to Nashville, I realized that my head just didn't feel right. I felt "gitty headed". I went straight to the ER. They quickly
took me to imaging and got a CT scan. I had experience a hemorragic stroke! I was placed in the ICU immediately. I spent 14 days in the hospital.

Today, I have fully recovered from the stroke, with no remaining symptoms. The docs told me that either high blood pressure or high cholesterol had caused the stroke. Today I am taking blood pressure and cholesterol medicine, watching my diet and exercising more. I was a very lucky man.
