Survivor
Jay is
currently a patient at Denton Regional Medical Center’s neuro program. The
patient sustained a left hemorrhagic cerebrovascular accident on November 7, 2009.
He is currently in treatment after having sustained issues with emulation.
Patient has a significant right hemiparesis, cognitive impairments and issues
with activities of daily living. The reason I am recommending this patient as an
exemplary recovery candidate is that he continuously has shown effort in
therapies over the past two years. He is an excellent example to all of the
patients remaining positive and appropriate during his therapy times. He is a
mentor to patients in the program and continuously encourages everyone that he
sees, including his therapists. His overarching goal is to attain as much
functional independence as possible. His continued positivity and effort have
led to gains in all therapy areas. The patient is an excellent example of how
hard work and a positive attitude can augment good therapy.
