Carol is a remarkable example of a lady who has not given up. In October, 2008 she had two strokes that left the left side of her body almost completely paralyzed. She has been a remarkable encouragement to myself and others who have suffered strokes by her encouraging posts on Facebook and other letters and messages.

Her most remarkable post-stroke accomplishment was that she completed a 5k run on her own just to prove that a stroke is not the end of life. If anyone is the "Face of Stroke" it is the remarkable smiling face of this lady who even though is hampered physically by ailments that she may or may not ever overcome, it has not dampened her emotional well-being of how she cares for her family and friends and strives to uplift them with her encouraging words and actions.
