Survivor & Support Group Leader
My stroke occurred in June 2000 at age 33. I was a young mother of two children. My stroke happened in a race car during a driving training course. After the stroke, I started a support group for young brain injury survivors. My goal is to educate survivors, care givers, medical professionals, and the general public about stroke prevention and survivor issues.
I was given a 25% survival rate. I continue to improve, and take care of my family. I take everyday challenges and turn them into positive experiences that can be shared through means of education. Together we find better ways to bring awareness to stroke prevention, as well as to improve positive outcomes after injury.
