Survivor
I was a longtime captain for private yachts, and was the building skipper of Dragon Lady IV.
May 2007: stroke in process center of brain - speaking, walking, but with immediate confusion and impaired judgment that evolved into notable dementia. Driving privileges revoked.
Winter 2008: survived two months of killer flu and a month of pneumonia.
September 2008: left hip fracture and repair. Walking resumed.
Winter 2009: commenced hyperbaric oxygen therapy in portable chamber.
November 2009: facial skin cancer surgery - walking suspended.
May 2010: right hip fracture and repair.
October 2010: enteral feeding tube provided.
January 2011: resuming ambulation.
Titular President of a vocational rehabilitation directed by devoted caregiver spouse, Lorena, age 70, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
