In September 2005, I suffered a massive brain hemorrhage, a hemorrhagic stroke. Following two brain surgeries, a coma, months of rehabilitation, and forced early retirement, I founded a series of successful stroke survivor and caregiver advocacy groups. Many of these groups were online; others were smaller, person-to-person gatherings.
