Survivor

On Sunday January 8, 2006, I was driving home from Sunday services and was about to drive my two nieces back to Macon, Georgia. Luckily, I was accompanied by my mother, and she noticed me driving outside my lane, looked over at me and screamed, "I think you're having a stroke!" Somehow we got out of the HOV lane, and over to the emergency lane. My mom got the car stopped and flagged down help. Then it was the same old story: hospital ICU, acute rehab, and sub acute rehab. On March 11, 2008, I finally made it back home, and I even went back to work in September of 2008. However, I unfortunately was fired on July 31, 2009.

Day by day, I'm getting back to life-it's not the same, but I am so happy to be alive!
