Lou P.  Lou Survivor I had my stroke in January 2008, and if it weren't for my wife, who is an RN, I probably would not be here today. If I was I would for sure be severely handicapped. She recognized immediately what was happening and we at the hospital within an hour or so. They diagnosed a stroke immediately, admitted me, treated me, and I was released four days later with a care plan. They closely supervised me for the first six months. After a year they completely released me. I have very few symptoms. My equilibrium is off, which causes a few discomforts. I tire easier than I did before my stroke. When all is said and done, I came out of a trying and grave circumstance in good shape. Why? I had a wife who recognized the signs and a medical team who was very responsive and through. Last but not least, I was a very positive patient who was in good physical condition before the mishap. |
