On December 20, 2007 I had a stroke. I then spent the next month in a coma. After I came to, I had lost my ability to read. After a few months of outpatient therapy I regained my ability to read, and I started to work with a vocational therapist to figure out how to get back to work. I returned to school, and I earned my certification to teach high school history. The process of getting certified included student teaching and everything else required of everybody else.
