My hemorrhagic stroke caught me totally by surprise on Black Friday in the afternoon, after a 4am wakeup call for bargain shopping. I had prepared the typical Thanksgiving dinner the day before. At 4:39, I felt a swelling in my throat. Thinking it was a seafood reaction, I took a benadryl... and then the stroke hit. The only pre-stroke warning sign I had was ignoring high blood pressure. Also, looking back on any other clues, I saw a pink distortion on a black and white TV. I thought it was just the TV. However, this also carried over to the pages of books. This could have been an important warning sign.
