I have written a book called Life After Stroke, which is being published right now and is scheduled to be on the market early February. I am a stroke survivor. I had my stroke in July 2004. Interesting story.
My hypothalamus died. That meant I could no longer remember anything new. I couldn't remember names, where I parked the car, where the door of the mall was. Nothing. At first it was a beautiful place... Then about a half year later, I started to recover and it became increasingly frustrating. It took years of hard work, but I have had a remarkable recovery. My book teaches those who have had a stroke how beautiful their life can once again be after recovery. It takes a while, and lots of hard work, but there is Life After Stroke. My book answers the questions that I searched for during my recovery. Doctors just don't answer certain questions, yet survivors need to see clearly the path and the goal in order to get better. That is what I wanted to offer to those newly dealing with stroke. A story of someone who made it.
Someone who made it with laughter and tears and truth and hope.
