Thomas
Survivor
I have been blessed to have survived my stroke in 1992 at the age of 35. I was sleeping, and upon waking, I could not move my entire body. Through the Grace of God, I have had the opportunity to help others. I have volunteered at my son's school to help in the library, being part of the PTA, and eventually being the Volunteer In Education for the school year 2003-2004. Upon learning that I may have cancer, I volunteered at my local American Cancer Society as The Road To Recovery Volunteer Coordinator. I was part of a team in which I coordinated rides for cancer patients to and from Chemo, Radiation, and Oncology appointments with volunteer drivers. I am presently trying to help my younger brother who had two strokes two months ago.
