Corey
Survivor
My life was forever changed on June 15, 2007, when I had my stroke at the age of 32. The stroke left me permanently disabled and unable to work. I have made a conscious decision to remain positive and live my life to the fullest, regardless of the effects the stroke has left upon me.
Every day, and literally every step I take, is a challenge but I will continue to fight because I have so much to live for.
My stroke left me unable to walk on my own, so I am dependent on a walker and wheelchair. I also deal with constant dizziness and severe pain issues. An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) caused my stroke when it bled, and it is still present in my brain so I live with fear of it bleeding again. Being a stroke survivor has made me realize that everything really does happen for a reason, and this is all a part of God's plan for me. Fortunately I am surrounded by people who love me and help me through each day!!
