Mari
Survivor
On May 29, 2006, I tripped on my lawn chair with my sandal. I fell, dislocated the left elbow, and hit my chin. On June 14th, three days before my wedding, I had a massive stroke. I tore my carotid artery. I was in the hospital for 51 days. I had surgery for the bone flap on my brain. I now have aphasia, my left arm is paralyzed, and my left leg is slightly paralyzed too. My foot has drop foot. On November 10, 2010, I had to do a tendon transfer for my ankle. I have a "boot" on to let me walk. My husband is amazing. He is patient and he loves me.
