Richard S. ![]() Richard Survivor I had a massive hemorrhagic stroke while at work in July 2009. I had surgery done that night in order to remove over 150 ml of blood from my left temporal lobe. I had not experienced any previous symptoms, and had no particular risk factors. The cause of my stroke is still unknown, but may relate to issues I had with vertebral artery occlusion caused by head rotation. Surgery was done on this in November 2010. I am now symptom free. The only lasting effect of my 2009 stroke is complete right side hemianopsia. I am distance running again, working as a tax attorney and CPA, and feel like I have been given a second chance at life. |
