Tina
Survivor
I had vascular dementia that ended up causing me to have a stoke on January 16, 2009. I had to learn how to walk again, and retrain my brain and my sanity on how to live a different way of life (which I am still doing). By having a strong will, a great team of doctors, and an even stronger support group, I am able to return to office work full time and to be the Mountain Dew mascot once again, even if it's only for small periods of time. However, it is still very tiring for me, due to fatigue and stimulation issues.
I have had to drastically change my life, some for the better and some not, but I am getting through it and will continue to work on getting better every day. It is a long road to haul for any stroke survivor, but I believe with the right people in your life, anything is possible. There are still many things that I can't do and get very frustrated with, but I am reminded that it could have been a lot worse.
