I had a bilateral carotid dissection and was dying before my family's and doctor's eyes. The stroke I had began on March 25, 2010, which was also my 31st birthday. I was training for a half-marathon at the time that was only weeks away. An emergency and risky surgery saved my life, and I was seen in the medical community as a walking miracle...
