Cynthia G.  Cynthia Healthcare Professional I am a Registered Nurse and have worked with stroke patients for over 27 years. Recently, I accepted the position of Stroke Coordinator for my hospital. In the past year, I have been privileged to witness many miracles. I have seen patients who could not say one word, but were restored to normal speech by the next day after receiving tPA. I have seen patients who were completely paralyzed on one side begin to move that side, even as they were on the table undergoing the clot-retrieval procedure. One patient was able to walk his daughter down the aisle two weeks later! This is a miraculous time to be working with stroke patients, and I feel privileged to be a part of it. |
