Alyssa W.  Caregiver & Family My mother, Sarah, is a stroke survivor of two years. Out of six siblings, I am the only one to care for my lovely mother on a daily basis while holding two part-time jobs. We lost my dad unexpectedly in 2003 and have not left each other's side since that horrible day. I have to say, I have the best parents in the world and putting my mother in a nursing home is not an option! My mom is my best friend. We did everything together prior to her stroke and will continue this fight as one. To this day, my mother still has the will, strength, encouragement and determination to not miss a beat in her life. I will be there with her every step of the way. I will never give up on her even though she has worked with several therapists who have. Her doctors always say that if it were not for me, they are not sure what condition my mom would be in, or if she would even be here. So we are living strong and continue to move on! |
