Kathy B. ![]() Kathy Caregiver & Family My significant other, Arthur, had a major hemorrhagic stroke at 46 years old. He was, at the time, an elite runner. After the stroke, he spent 12 days in the ICU followed by four months at a skilled nursing/rehab facility until he came to live with me two and a half years ago. I work with him daily, with his physical therapy, which includes cognitive therapy and occupational therapy. We also go to the Brain Injury Network where he is joined by other people who have had a brain injury. Arthur means the world to me, and I only want the best for him. His immediate family is back east, and they don't have the nerve to call us to see if we need anything. All in all, I would say Arthur is doing pretty well. I just wish that his progress would go a little bit quicker. |
