Dr. Greg
Healthcare Professional
Dr. Gregory joined the Greenville Hospital System (GHS) in
2007 and has worked tirelessly to build relationships with emergency
physicians in the hospital system and region to improve the quality
of stroke care delivered. Before his arrival, the hospital treated less
than seven patients annually with thrombolytics.
Through his efforts, more than 70 patients have been treated
in GHS or GHS-affiliated emergency rooms. We have also instituted an
emergent telestroke program under his leadership. Over 60 percent of
stroke patients admitted to our hospital are eventually discharged to a home
setting. Greater than 90 percent of our patients are consistently
receiving evaluations for their rehabilitation needs. Although
our flagship hospital has had a stroke program for over 15 years, only
after his arrival was there an organized effort to achieve primary stroke
center status. The hospital leadership is now contemplating obtaining the
additional services required to be a comprehensive stroke center as well.
