Managing Atrial Fibrillation to Prevent Stroke

National Stroke Association, in a joint sponsorship with Heart Rhythm Society, is implementing a year-long education initiative to close the gap between knowledge and practice with regard to atrial fibrillation and stroke. The multicomponent program will feature grand rounds, webinars, Internet Point of Care and an online resource center. Our first step in understanding the issue is gathering information from healthcare professionals using a case-based assessment. The survey will allow Program Chairs Dr. Philip Gorelick and Dr. Jonathan Halperin to gather information on current practices in an effort to create an educational program designed to make change in methods toward reducing the prevalence of stroke.
