May Is National Stroke Awareness Month

More than two-thirds of the U.S. population cannot recognize more than one stroke warning sign. Do your friends and family know the signs?
It’s estimated that stroke will have a greater impact in the coming years. Be aware and share life-saving information about stroke—tap into the Stroke Awareness Resource Center’s EKit for e-cards, fact sheets, web graphics, social media posts, paycheck and bag stuffers, and more.

3 Lives Touched by Stroke Awareness

This May, you’ll be inspired by three stroke survivors whose lives might be tragically different today if it wasn’t for awareness of the warning signs of a stroke, followed by prompt care and treatment.
One of them, Dan Hetrick, went from aspiring marathon runner to stroke
survivor in a matter of minutes.
| Read how he survived, thanks to some
people who recognized the signs. |

This change is effective immediately and applies to outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy in outpatient, home health and nursing home settings.
