This Sunday, July 8,
a group of athletes will participate in the 2012 Aquaphor New York City
Triathlon to support National Stroke Association. And later this year, more
athletes will raise stroke awareness and funds in the 2012 Marine Corps
Marathon and the 2012 ING New York City Marathon. You can support the effort

A Brief Word With Congress

During National Stroke Awareness Month, National Stroke Association hosted a congressional briefing with the American Stroke Association. Our organizations went to Capitol Hill to educate Congress about stroke
and why the research conducted by the National Institute of Neurological
Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is critical to advancing stroke diagnosis,
treatment and recovery. Read more.

This briefing builds on previous activities by the Stroke Advocacy Network to voice support for NINDS funding on Capitol Hill. Learn more about the issues the Stroke Advocacy Network is working on and how you can make your voice heard in your representatives’ offices.

Award-Winning Awareness

Now through the end of July, you can nominate a group or individual for a RAISE Award. The Raising Awareness in Stroke Excellence (RAISE) Awards honor those who have taken stroke awareness to new heights in their communities.

Awards will be given this fall in seven categories. But hurry and submit your nominations before July 31!
